World Motor Sport Council Simplifies Power Unit Penalties

The World Motor Sport Council met in Mexico earlier this week, making key decisions on the future of Formula One including simplifying Power Unit Penalties. Following the results of some teams already exceeding their four power unit limit this season, power unit change penalties have started to be applied. Due to the likes of Jenson Button and Fernando Alonso being unable to take full penalties due to their qualifying position, this has meant race penalties such as drive throughs and time penalties are also applied – much to the consternation of fans.
