Qatar moves closer to Formula 1 race

GP2 Media Service Qatar's Motor and Motorcycle Federation (QMMF) says the country is edging closer to hosting a Formula 1 race in the near future. Qatar has held a MotoGP race since 2004 and earlier this year plans regarding a Formula 1 race in the nation were made public. QMMF President Nasser bin Khalifa Al Attiyah says that only final details need to be agreed with Formula 1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone. "Recently, we were very close to signing an agreement to host an F1 race," he told Doha Stadium Plus. "The entire project is ready.
