Bottas explains Williams appendages: ‘Just for data analysis'
Austria – Williams' Valtteri Bottas says that the new parts the team are testing are helping with the FW37's downforce, and that some of the more visible components during the test are just for data collection. Much was made about a winglet ran on the FW37 on Day 1, which was positioned as part of the floor ahead of the front tyres. The part, according to several media sources, is illegal according to the regulations; a somewhat moot point considering that cars do not need to run in legal specification for testing.
