Ericsson concedes Sauber falling short

Sauber's Marcus Ericsson reflected on a frustrating Canadian Grand Prix for the Swiss side, stating that the expected pace of the team's setup did not materialize on a quick Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. 'I think we had wanted and hoped for a lot more,' Ericsson said. 'We thought our car was going to be a lot stronger in quali and the race: we are just lacking a bit of pace. The balance of the car is good, and we just need pace: it was disappointing.' However, the Swede conceded that not all performance issues were down to the car and that his drive could have been cleaner.
