Buemi leads e.dams-Renault 1-2 – FP1 Report
With the decorative backdrop of the beautiful architecture shadowing the circuit the first practice session for the Russian ePrix. The session on the new street circuit began with track temperatures around 22 degrees, but with rain forecast for later on in the day, drivers were aiming to get as many laps under their belts as possible. It was Antonio Felix da Costa who set the early benchmark of a 1:16.380 as drivers began to find their way around the 13 corner track. The leader at the top changed several times in the first ten minutes, with Da Costa, Buemi and Piquet taking turns at setting P1 times.
