Monaco 2014: The result that changed the destinies of two teams

The Formula One circus returns to the streets of Monte Carlo this week, a venue which is widely referred to as the jewel in the F1 crown. The annual gap between F1 races around the principality has done little to change the landscape at the front of the grid, with Mercedes expected to again spearhead the battle to the chequered flag. The other end of the pit-lane however, has a much more contrasting form about it. The 2014 race brought about one of Formula 1’s more memorable moments of recent years, which was to turn out as seminal as it was inspiring.
