Wehrlein fastest, Marciello crashes in Barcelona

Pascal Wehrlein ended the morning session on day two of the post-Spanish Grand Prix in-season test at the top of the timesheets. The German was scheduled to drive for Force India on Tuesday but illness forced him to miss the outing. However, after recovering, he was well enough to complete running for Mercedes. He managed the most laps of anyone in the morning, completing 76 tours of the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, and set a 1:26.641. Jolyon Palmer returned to the cockpit of the Lotus E23 and was second on the timesheets when the morning session concluded, following four hours of running.
