Button turns pessimistic about McLaren chances
After positive free practice sessions and a greatly improved qualifying performance suggested that McLaren-Honda might just be turning the corner, a freak brake failure for Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button's inability to corral the car leave the impression that much is still to be done at Woking. 'It was pretty scary to drive: every time I touched the throttle, it just snapped. I'm sure something is wrong there,' Button said. 'We had understeer in the car but the rear wasn't there. As soon as I touched the throttle at any speed, it was gone.'
