Pirelli: ‘Tyre performance will change over the weekend'

Pirelli's Paul Hembery says that the performance of the chosen tyre compounds this weekend will vary due to the different times of each session. The first of the practice sessions starts at 2pm local on Friday morning, meaning hot afternoon conditions for the initial preparations for Sunday's race, but with the all important qualifying and race taking place in the cooler evening conditions, Pirelli say that the way the soft and medium tyres react to the differing temperatures will make life difficult for the teams: “We have the same tyre choice as we did in China for Bahrain, although there will obviously be a bit more temperature involved.
