Hamilton says paperwork delaying new Mercedes deal

World champion Lewis Hamilton says his new deal with the Mercedes Formula 1 team is unlikely to be announced this week. The Briton, whose contract with the German squad ends after this year, said at the end of last month that the new deal was imminent. "It should be done this week. There is no reason why not," Hamilton said after the Malaysian Grand Prix. "It's honestly 99.6 per cent done." But Hamilton, who now manages himself, admitted on Wednesday that the announcement has been delayed because of all the paperwork he has to go through.
