FP 1 just had finished in Malaysia and... surprise, surprise, Nico Rosberg took P1. Meanwhile, Hamilton had gear problems and didn't set a time.
Alonso in his return to a race track set a good 14º place, setting a time around 2,7 secs behind Rosberg and ahead of his team-mate Jenson Button.
