Pirelli expecting ‘at least' a two stopper in Sepang
Pirelli's Paul Hembery says he expects the drivers to need at least two stops to get through this Sunday's Malaysian Grand Prix. The first race of 2015 took place on the Melbourne street circuit of Albert Park, a track that doesn't take too much life out of the tyres. This was borne out by drivers being able to make just a single stop after an early safety car, utilising the soft and medium compounds throughout the race. However, Sepang is a very different circuit. Fast and flowing in nature, the high lateral loads kills the tyres more quickly, while the increased downforce required also increases vertical forces.
