German GP struck from calendar

The German Grand Prix has been struck off the schedule for the first time since 1960. The troubled event has been in doubt for several months, with both Hockenheim & Nurburgring backing out of holding the race. Nurburgring had been originally scheduled to hold the race, as it was their turn thanks to an alternating year arrangement with Hockenheim. Georg Seiler, MD at Hockenheim, said to BILD several days ago that ‘we have no more hope that Formula 1 will take place here (this year). Time has expired for organising a race here.'
