Swiss ePrix possible after motor racing ban is lifted

An ePrix in Switzerland may be on the horizon after the Swiss government have the go-ahead on a move to reduce it's ban on motor racing. A decision to adopt a motion made by MP Fathi Derder means that the Swiss Council of States have relaxed the ban on motor racing. The ban has been in effect since the 1950's following a huge accident in the 1955 24 hours of Le Mans which claimed the lives of many spectators. The Swiss government, however, have been encouraged to lift the ban following a demonstration event in Geneva, organised by Formula E partners Julius Baer and Tag Heuer, where Simona de Silvestro drove a Spark-Renault SRT_01E round the city's streets.
