Honda lodges engine with FIA amidst token confusion

Despite a frustrating testing campaign, McLaren-Honda have been forced to homologate their 2015 power unit, as the FIA’s deadline for lodging the new season’s engines has fallen. Any further changes, which by the looks of the Woking outfit’s reliability problems in Jerez and Barcelona will be extensive, incur a token cost, which is both a sore spot and a point of confusion with Honda. “We do not know what tokens we will have because we do not know yet what the others have used,” Honda’s Yasuhisa Arai said, referencing controversy surrounding allegations that other teams misrepresented the amount of tokens they used in their new power units.
