Nick Chester: ‘Pastor couldn't slow sufficiently'
Explaining Pastor Maldonado's Day 4 ending crash, Lotus Technical Director Nick Chester absolved the Venezuelan of blame and explained the E23 technical failure that sent him into the barriers. Pastor was at the wheel for the final day of testing, and had completed 35 laps during the morning session. Working on aero assessment, he came back out in the afternoon, and on his second lap out of the pits, crashed into the barriers at Turn 4.
