Lotus: Brake issue caused Maldonado crash

– Lotus has confirmed that a brake problem caused Pastor Maldonado's crash on the final day of pre-season testing in Barcelona.The team was forced to end its test early after Maldonado hit the barriers at Turn 4 in the early stages of Sunday's afternoon session.Lotus Technical Director Nick Chester has since linked the incident to a technical problem, insisting that Maldonado was blameless."Pastor was unfortunate to have a braking-related issue which meant he wasn't able to slow sufficiently into Turn 4 and the car was damaged," said Chester."There was nothing Pastor or any driver could have done to avoid this accident which was systems related and we're investigating...
