Alonso yet to be cleared for Australian Grand Prix

Sutton Images Enlarge Fernando Alonso's participation at the Australian Grand Prix is still uncertain as McLaren waits for doctors to give him the all clear following his crash during the second test in Spain. Alonso had an unusual but serious crash on the final day of the middle test, veering off the road on the exit of Turn 3 and hitting the inside wall. He was airlifted to hospital after the crash for precautionary tests, with McLaren CEO Ron Dennis confirming the Spaniard had a brief period of unconsciousness after impact. McLaren put the crash down to gusty winds coming through the corner, which later caught out Alonso's compatriot Carlos Sainz in the Toro Rosso. On the first day of...
