Overnight hospital stay for concussed Alonso
Fernando Alonso will spend a night in hospital after suffering a concussion in an accident on the final day of pre-season testing at the Circuit de Catalunya. Alonso crashed on the exit of turn three whilst on a relatively slow out-lap shortly before lunchtime, the Spaniard's McLaren-Honda making a hefty impact against the inside wall side-on. Needing assistance out of the car, Alonso was initially checked by on-site staff in the medical centre before he was airlifted to hospital for further analysis, as well as an MRI and CT scan. McLaren-Honda has since confirmed that Alonso is 'uninjured', but the concussion he suffered means he will require a stay in hospital overnight. Furthermore,...
