Ron Dennis : ‘We are Manchester United'
Since parting company with Vodafone, McLaren have been without a title sponsor throughout their disappointing 2014 season and team boss Ron Dennis used a football analogy to explain why he was in no hurry to sign with one. Reflecting on the lack of race wins since 2012, he was outspoken to media, ‘I feel a bit like Manchester United, which has had a run of crappy football games and gone down in the league.' He explained that the title sponsor should bring in around half the team's revenue budget and how he was not prepared to make a deal on the cheap just because the team was coming out of a slump.
