Engine tokens won't change Mercedes development plan

The slight relaxation of the engine rules for 2015 will allow all the manufacturers to improve their engines throughout 2015, but Mercedes' Andy Cowell says that his team's approach remains unchanged. A slight loophole in the engine rules introduced last season has opened up the possibility for manufacturers to slowly improve their engines throughout the 2015 season by use of a token system. Each manufacturer, including Honda, has 32 tokens which they can use at any point throughout the season to make changes to their power unit. This will allow for very different development plans throughout the year, as some will seek an early advantage while others may choose to save tokens until later...
