F1 gets green-light for major changes in 2016, '17

Formula 1 looks set for a radical overhaul in the next two years after the green light was given on Thursday to implement a major shake-up of the technical rules. A proposal for 1,000bhp engines, wider tyres and increased downforce were put forward on Thursday during a F1 Strategy Group meeting in Paris. The ideas were received well amongst the majority of teams and F1 bosses and the go-ahead has therefore been given, with in-depth research into what exactly needs to be changed the next step.
