Nasr top for Sauber as McLaren finish early

Felipe Nasr recovered from an off to emerge top of the timesheets on the third day of F1 pre-season testing in Jerez, while McLaren completed 32 laps before more technical issues. The Brazilian, who was second fastest on his first day in the Sauber C34, progressed to the top spot with a soft tyre run in the afternoon once the track – which was damp in the morning – had dried sufficiently, stopping the clocks at 1min 21.545secs. Though he caused an early red flag with a spin into the gravel trap at turn ten, Nasr was one of only three drivers to complete more than 100 laps, along with Nico Rosberg and Carlos Sainz, and otherwise suffered no technical dramas.
