Force India elects to skip Jerez test

orce India has opted against attending the first pre-season test at Jerez with its 2014 machine, and will instead focus its efforts on the subsequent gatherings in Barcelona, where the new VJM08 is due to run.The Silverstone-based outfit, which staged a livery launch in Mexico last week, previously stated that it would be gathering data with its old car at the opening test from February 1-4.But the decision has since been taken to delay any track action until the second test at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, which gets underway on February 19.With Force India, Marussia and Caterham all absent, only eight Formula 1 teams are scheduled to take part in the Jerez test.
