F1 2014 Season Review: Caterham, Kamui Kobayashi and Marcus Ericsson

Tony Fernandes threatened during Caterham’s 2014 launch that he would wrap up the team if it did not make the substantial leap into the midfield he expected going into the new season.
Given those comments, and that the team’s CT05 was slow from the off, it was no surprise when the Malaysian agreed a deal to sell Caterham – the team he had founded as Lotus Racing in 2010 – in July to a bunch of Swiss and Middle Eastern investors.
The secretive investors, later revealed to be Engavest, took control of the outfit ahead of the British Grand Prix, appointing former F1 racer Christijan Albers as team principal, and spoke of a desire to move...
