Haas F1 set to use Marussia factory as base
The Haas F1 Team is set to use Marussia's factory in Banbury as its European base when it joins the grid in 2016. Racecar Engineering reports that Haas has purchased the ex-Marussia factory, despite the facility not having been part of a recent auction of a number of the team's assets. Marussia went in to administration after the Russian Grand Prix this year and later ceased trading over the Brazilian Grand Prix weekend having failed to find a buyer. Haas plans on basing its F1 team from Kannapolis in North Carolina where it currently operates a multi-championship winning NASCAR outfit, but owner Gene Haas has previously admitted a European base would also be required with 2015 seeing just...
