F1: Hamilton wins Sports Personality of the Year

Lewis Hamilton has been named BBC Sports Personality of the Year after a vote by the British public on Sunday night. The award comes following Hamilton's second world championship victory, which was sealed with his 11th win of the season in Abu Dhabi three weeks ago. Hamilton beat golfer Rory McIlroy and athlete Jo Pavey to the award, and said he was "speechless" having previously been runner-up in both 2007 and 2008. "I am so speechless," Hamilton said.
