Button: More than one year F1 deal was must

Jenson Button has revealed that his new deal with McLaren is for more than one year and that a multi-year agreement was “a must” for both him and the team. Button was confirmed alongside Fernando Alonso for F1 2015 on Thursday morning and while McLaren did not state the length of the contract – as is usual, it is understood it is for two years with his annual salary cut from roughly 16 million Euros per year to around 10 million Euros. “I think we [McLaren and I] both agree that more than one year is a must,” Button stated. “This is a new project, an exciting project.
