F1 likely to change lapped safety car rule for 2015

The safety car rules surrounding lapped cars will likely change for 2015, with the teams discussing proposals to amend the regulations during a meeting in Brazil on Friday. Currently lapped cars are allowed to unlap themselves by overtaking the cars ahead, including the safety car, before catching up to the back of the pack. This however takes several laps to complete and therefore the safety car is often out for longer than it's needed to clear an accident. A proposal which is set for discussion at the sporting regulation working group on Friday is for lapped cars to simply drop to the back of the pack, which it's believed would take a single lap.
