Caterham plight halted Barrichello comeback
Getty Images Enlarge Caterham's recent fall into administration prevented a shock comeback for Rubens Barrichello for the final three races of 2014. It has emerged Caterham planned to give Barrichello, 42, Kamui Kobayashi's seat for the United States, his home race in Brazil and the finale in Abu Dhabi to give him a proper farewell from the sport. Kobayashi's seat had been confirmed on a race-by-race basis since he was replaced by Andre Lotterer at the Belgian Grand Prix in August. The deal was worked on by Colin Kolles, previous Caterham team boss and Brazilian GP organiser, and looked set to give Barrichello his first F1 race since the 2011 finale at Interlagos, where he drove for...
