Perez handed grid penalty for Brazil

Sergio Perez has been handed a seven-place grid penalty for next weekend's Brazilian Grand Prix at the Interlagos circuit. The Mexican was given the grid drop by the FIA stewards after crashing into both Kimi Raikkonen and Adrian Sutil on the first lap of today's United States Grand Prix at turn 15. The sport's governing body said Perez's attempted overtake was 'reckless' and also awarded him two penalty points. The contact between Perez and Sutil at the Circuit of the Americas put both drivers out of the race.
