Fuel conservation to blame for Toro Rosso's dismal day

After a promising qualifying session on Saturday, Toro Rosso's Jean-Eric Vergne and Daniil Kvyat both failed to finish today's Russian Grand Prix in the points. Vergne had a storming start to go from ninth to fifth on the opening lap. The Frenchman felt his car's balance was good, but he quickly dropped down the order. Fuel conservation was to blame for Vergne's disappointing 13th place finish. 'It was an extremely frustrating race,' he said. 'We have to understand why we had to save so much fuel. 'It’s a real shame because the guys did an excellent job giving us a very good car, which I felt was great for the whole race. The start was very positive, we were attacking as much as possible...
