Vettel to leave Red Bull at end of 2014
Sebastian Vettel will leave Red Bull Racing at the conclusion of the 2014 Formula 1 season, the team has announced.
The four-time world champion will be replaced in the seat by Russian Daniil Kvyat, who has excelled in his first season at Toro Rosso.
Red Bull announced the shock move in a statement ahead of Saturday's track running at the Japanese Grand Prix.
“Sebastian Vettel has advised us that he will be leaving Infiniti Red Bull Racing at the end of the 2014 season,” read the statement.
“We want to warmly thank Sebastian for the incredible role he has played at Infiniti Red Bull Racing for the last six years.
