Honda announcement adds to 2015 power unit rumour mill

Honda revealed a first image of their 2015 power unit yesterday but as William Tyson explains, this is a far from finished product with a lot of hurdles for the Japanese company to go over before their official debut in Jerez next year. First thing’s first, it’s great to see Honda announce that they are well and truly in full scale operation now, particularly as the announcement comes on the eve of the Japanese GP this weekend. The possibility of testing the new – as yet unnamed – PU (power unit) in Abu Dhabi later this year is still very real but the fact that they claim to have only just started full dyno tests that link both the ICE (internal combustion engine) and the ERS...
