Verstappen crashes during demo run
Max Verstappen's first public drive since being confirmed as a Toro Rosso driver failed to go according to plan on Sunday.
The 16-year-old, who will become the youngest-ever F1 driver next year when he partners Daniil Kvyat at STR, took part in a show-run in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
However, the Dutch youngster lost control of the RB7, the 2011 title-winning Red Bull car, and crashed into the barriers. Marshals were quickly on the scene to wheel him away.
Although Verstappen insists "age is just a number" and he will be ready for F1 next year, question marks have been raised over Toro Rosso's decision to hand a race seat to the teenager with the likes of former Champions...
