Tech Analysis: Hungarian GP developments

There was only a week between the German and Hungarian Grand Prix, yet despite the summer break looming the developments continued to unravel in Budapest.  With track temperatures reaching 56C on Friday, tyre degradation was a huge concern in the paddock but as the rain came on Sunday track conditions improved dramatically. Fernando Alonso's mammoth last stint on the option tyre showed that the prime tyre, in cooler conditions, probably didn't have the pace to challenge for the victory – as Lewis Hamilton experienced.
