Azerbaijan to join F1 calendar in 2016

Azerbaijan will join the Formula 1 calendar in 2016 as the host of the European Grand Prix, it has been confirmed. A race around the streets of Baku had been set to join the schedule next season, but today it has been announced that the plans have been put back one year. 'I am delighted to officially announce that we have signed a contract to bring Formula 1 racing to Baku in 2016,' said Azad Rahimov, Azerbaijan's Minister of Youth and Sport.
