Red Bull 'looks a bit closer' - Rosberg

Getty Images Enlarge Nico Rosberg is concerned Red Bull may have closed the gap at Hockenheim but thinks Saturday will be a better indication of just how much of its advantage Mercedes has retained without FRIC. The speculation leading into the weekend was that Mercedes might struggle the most without its FRIC suspension system, believed to be one of its strengths in 2014. Fernando Alonso finished three tenths off in FP1 before Daniel Ricciardo's supersoft lap was just one tenth of Lewis Hamilton's FP2 benchmark, while Red Bull showed competitive pace compared to Mercedes on the longer soft compound runs.
