Hamilton fastest as Ricciardo closes gap

Lewis Hamilton was quickest in FP2 for the German Grand Prix but saw Daniel Ricciardo bring Red Bull close to Mercedes. After Nico Rosberg edged out his team-mate in FP1, it was Hamilton who was on top in the afternoon with a 1:18.341 which left him just 0.024s clear of Rosberg. With the best times being set on the supersoft tyre, Ricciardo was third quickest on a 1:18.443 and was the only other driver within half a second of the leading pair. Kimi Raikkonen was fourth for Ferrari but 0.546 slower than Hamilton, just ahead of Kevin Magnussen and Felipe Massa.
