Renault expecting performance boost in Germany

Renault is expecting a boost in performance as a result of new fuel from Total at this weekend's German Grand Prix. Following a disappointing Austrian Grand Prix, Renault's power unit was more competitive at Silverstone as Daniel Ricciardo finished third for Red Bull and Sebastian Vettel fifth. With Total bringing a new fuel to Hockenheim and Renault having been able to test software upgrades during the in-season test a week ago, Renault Sport F1 head of track operations Remi Taffin is expecting a step forward as a result of the combination of the two. “We're going to Hockenheim in a good frame of mind,” Taffin said. “We aim to be on the form we showed in Canada and Silverstone.
