Sainz Jr confirms Caterham talks

Red Bull young driver Carlos Sainz Jr has confirmed that discussions have been held with a view to placing him in Formula 1 with Caterham, perhaps as early as this season.
Sainz currently leads the Formula Renault 3.5 championship and has been widely tipped to move into Formula 1 next year with Red Bull's junior team, Toro Rosso.
Sainz impressed when he drove for Red Bull and Toro Rosso at the young driver test in July 2013 at Silverstone and could move into a race seat before the end of 2014.
"It is true that there have been talks and that we have spoken to them, but nothing is confirmed," Sainz Jr told Spanish newspaper AS.
