FP1: Rosberg dominates first British GP practice

Nico Rosberg set the benchmark time in the opening practice session for the British Grand Prix on Friday morning in Silverstone. The Mercedes driver's lap of 1:35.424 was over seven tenths quicker than team-mate Lewis Hamilton could manage in second, whilst Ferrari's Fernando Alonso was a further tenth back. Daniel Ricciardo split the Ferraris as Kimi Raikkonen finished fifth fastest, over a second slower. The session was fairly eventful with Pastor Maldonado the first to hit trouble. The Lotus driver stopped at the exit of the pitlane and was told to "shut the engine off" by his engineer. He completed just two out laps before jumping out of the car and calling it a day. Susie...
