Alonso pleased with Ferrari upgrades after Austria qualifying
Fernando Alonso says he is pleased with the improvements made to the Ferrari F14 T in Austria, after qualifying in fourth place for tomorrow's race at the Red Bull Ring.
The Spaniard benefited from a spin for Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton, who looked set to challenge for pole position, and put in a strong lap to secure a place on the second row of the grid.
'Definitely it was not a normal qualifying, of which we took advantage,' he said. 'It is not normal to see Hamilton behind us or Mercedes.'
Commenting on the upgrades, he added: 'Definitely the new parts that we ran in Canada and here, they seem to work fine. In Canada, the track or layout or whatever was not good for us, so we...
