Mixed qualifying session for McLaren in Canada

The McLaren team suffered mixed fortunes in today’s qualifying session for the Canadian Grand Prix. Jenson Button managed to make it through to the top 10 shoot-out and will line up for tomorrow’s race in ninth place. However, his team-mate failed to make it through to Q3 and was eliminated in the second segment of qualifying. Kevin Magnussen will start the Canadian Grand Prix from 12th place. The team had looked slightly more competitive on Friday, but slipped down the order slightly in the third and final practice session. Set-up changes were made to both cars during the two-hour break.
