Chassis damage rules Gutierrez out of qualifying
Getty Images Enlarge Esteban Gutierrez will miss qualifying for the Canadian Grand Prix after his Sauber's chassis sustained irreparable damage in an accident in final practice. After just 15 minutes of the session, Gutierrez lost the rear of his car on the exit of Turn 3, failed to catch the 180 degree slide through Turn 4 and clouted the barrier with his left-rear wheel and front-left. There was significant damage to the rear suspension, but it was the knock on the front that actually resulted in the chassis damage. Between sessions Sauber confirmed the damage required a chassis change, ruling Gutierrez out of qualifying. Bad news: the team has to change the chassis. @EstebanGtz will...
