Gutierrez to miss qualifying after crash
Esteban Gutierrez will miss qualifying for the Canadian Grand Prix after damaging his chassis in a crash during FP3. Early in the final practice session, Gutierrez lost the rear of his Sauber entering Turn 3 and spun backwards in to the wall on the exit of Turn 4. The left rear of the car sustained the most damage as the car was launched off the exit kerb, and the session had to be red flagged as a result. After the car was recovered to the garage, Sauber found that chassis was too badly damaged to be repaired and would have to be changed ahead of the race, forcing Gutierrez to miss qualifying.
