Hamilton quicker than Rosberg in Canada practice
Lewis Hamilton continued Mercedes’ firm grip on the season after posting the quickest time in practice for the Canadian Grand Prix on Friday. The Briton’s time was a tenth faster than teammate Nico Rosberg, who heads the championship table, in both the sessions establishing the 2008 world champion as a favourite for the weekend. Defending world champion Sebastian Vettel was four-tenths off in third ahead of the Ferrari duo of Kimi Raikkonen and Fernando Alonso. Raikkonen, who had a glitch in the power unit early in the first session, faced problems again in the closing stages of second practice.
