'Kimi is closing the gap to Alonso'
Kimi Raikkonen may be trailing Fernando Alonso in the stats but Ferrari technical director James Allison says he is closing the gap out on track.
Returning to Ferrari this season, Raikkonen has had a bit of a difficult time adjusting.
Out-qualified by his team-mate three-to-two, Raikkonen has yet to better Alonso on a grand prix Sunday.
As a result, while the Spaniard is sitting third in the Championship on 49 points, Raikkonen has netted just 17.
Allison, though, is confident that the 2007 World Champion is closing the gap.
"It's not entirely fair to say that he's struggling more than Fernando, they both have similar feedback on the car," said the tech director.
