Ericcson pays tribute to Super Swede Peterson at Monaco

Marcus Ericsson with his Ronnie Peterson replica helmet Caterham rookie Marcus Ericsson will be using a replica Ronnie Peterson helmet in honour of his late fellow countryman and Formula 1′s original Super Swede. Forty years ago Peterson won the 1974 Monaco Grand Prix at the wheel of a Lotus 72E. He was a favourite of F1 fans for his laid back demeanour which defied his blistering pace on track. He wore a distinctive blue helmet with yellow trimming, with long time sponsors Vicks emblazoned on the visor area. Peterson was a two-time runner-up in the Formula 1 drivers' world championship, winning 10 races during his career. He died following a crash on the first lap of the 1978...
