Maldonado sets pace on second morning

Pastor Maldonado was quickest on the second morning of testing in Barcelona as Lotus continued its strong week. After Charles Pic was second fastest on Tuesday, Maldonado set a time of 1:26.311 on soft tyres to lead Kimi Raikkonen's Ferrari by 0.9s. Wednesday was a much more productive day for Raikkonen, who managed to complete X laps having been limited to just 20 by a number of stoppages on track yesterday. There was much interest around Mercedes at the start of the day as Nico Rosberg ran with a 'megaphone' exhaust fitted to his car as part of a test designed to improve the sound of the new engines.
